My Favorite iPhone Apps: Simplenote
Sunday, January 17, 2010 |
This is the first in what I plan on making a series of posts about my favorite iPhone apps. As you can tell from my bio, I am an unapologetic Apple Mac and iPhone fanboy and love sharing tips and information about all things Apple. In this first post, I want to tell you about one of my new favorite iPhone apps which is also a free download.
Simplenote is a clever notes app that seamlessly synchronizes notes on your iPhone with the Simplenote web based app or a selection of third party desktop applications. It's simplicity in synchronizing text notes is it's key feature and takes the place of the native notes iPhone app provided by Apple. Below is a video produced by the developers of Simplenote explaining the key features of this useful app:
Simplenote is free to download and use although there is a paid version with additional premium features. Those features include the ability to disable the in-app ads, automatic back-up of your notes with versioning, the ability to create notes via email, an RSS feed of your notes and unlimited API usage (the free version has a limit of 2000 per day.) The premium service is only $4.99 per year, a steal in my opinion and well worth it.
Let me know what you think. I welcome your feedback and comments.
